Invasive Species Spotlight: Japanese Knotweed

Writer's picture: RichardRichard

Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia japonica) is an invasive species that is making an impact on biodiversity in the French Broad watershed. Like other invasives in the area it is fast growing, opportunistic, and widespread. It has wide ranging impacts, from outcompeting native species like River Cane to increasing erosion during it's winter dormancy. See the presentation for more information.
